But by no means outclassed….
- You're right there Bob - Halfling home team; The Kneecappers. And it appears the Kneecappers fans have turned out in force today, dwarfing the chaos fans by at least two to one.
Hey that was almost a joke Jim…
Thanks Bob. Why don't you tell us a little bit about the teams?
Well okay Jim. Both teams are relatively new to the game, and this is their first major league outing. The Krushas, whilst not well supported, are certainly the favourites to win today. Their team is even rumoured to contain a Bloodthirster in it's lineup.
Really Bob? Wow, those crazy chaos cats. What about the Kneecappers then?
Well as we all know, Jim; Halfling teams are not known for their record victories in this game, however the Kneecappers have decided to take matters firmly into their own hands and have enlisted the help of an ogre onto their roster.
Well that should certainly even things out if the Krushas turn nasty Bob.
It certainly will. Wait a minute Jim, what's that? The crowd are cheering. It appears the teams are making their way onto the pitch.
There's that Bloodthirster Bob.
Yes indeedy, Jim. gua???, the team's star strides confidently onto the pitch. And here are the Kneecappers, followed by a roar from the crowd!
Both teams looking quietly confident here Bob. The Kneecappers are certainly not giving away any sign of fear at this point. The teams are taking up their starting positions now and..wait! What's going on. There seems to be some confusion on the pitch?
Wow! Did you see that Jim? One of the halfling crowd seems to want to even the lineup slightly. The Krusha's star player, gua??? the bloodthirster has been knocked to the floor by some sort of projectile launched from the Kneecapper crowd.
What a shocker Bob. This does not bode well for the Krushas.
You said it Jim. But wait, gua??? is getting up, he seems to be OK.
It's that tough daemon armour for you Bob.
Definitely an asset Jim. A silence has fallen over the crowd. Looks like the game is about to start…
And the referee blows the whistle!
Oh, and two Krushas players are down in the initial push. One of the Kneecappers also seems to have taken a tumble Bob.
Yes, a disappointing start for the Krushas. The apothecary is on the pitch, chanting incantations for the fallen chaos warrior. Can you see his number Jim?
No Bob. I don't know which member it was. Ooh and he is being stretchered off the pitch. A bad fall that one. The Kneecappers are holding true to their name today Bob.
Look at that Jim, those Beastmen plowing into the Kneecappers line. Oh dear, one of the Kneecappers has been Ko'd!
That's gotta smart Bob!
Look at this Jim. The Krushas are mounting a solid offence. Two more Kneecappers are down!
And stunned by the looks of it Bob! But those halflings are agile players, several have dodged out of the chaos line!
An uncharacteristically resourceful beastman has made a run for the ball … and he picks it up!
Ouch! Look over there Bob. The Kneecappers star ogre, assisted by one of his team-mates has downed a chaos warrior. And he's now turning his attention to the Bloodthrister.
This is a bold move Jim. But will it pay off?
Ah! The Bloodthirster shakes off the blow and smacks the ogre over! The Kneecappers coach shakes his head in agony. He didn't want to see that!
Oooh. A beastman has tripped himself up trying to tackle. It looks like he has caused a serious injury. I expect he's off the roster next match Jim.
The beastman with the ball makes a run past the Kneecappers line but is immediately taken down by three Kneecappers … and they bundle into him. I don't see how he can have survived that Bob.
No siree. The medics are again taking away a Krusha team member.
The bloodletter is making an unheroic sprint for the ball … he reaches it … he fumbles! What a mistake there Bob.
Not what he wanted to do at all Jim. In an attempt to even the odds, the ogre and five of the other Kneecappers launch themselves at the Bloodthirster.. And it's a take down. ??? looks dazed and confused on the floor.
Indeed, Bob. The Kneecappers seem to be getting a little overconfident. There! Another goes to foul the downed Bloodthirster… But the Ref blows his whistle.
It's a foul Jim. The Kneecapper is sent off. The Kneecapper fans aren't too happy about that at all. The Ref seems to be being bombarded with half-eaten food from the crowd!
They must be angry Bob. Have you ever known a halfling to part with his meal?
The Krushas are in bad shape now Jim. Only four players remaining on the pitch. Can they stop a touchdown by the Kneecappers?
I don't know Bob. ??? is running away from the blockade around him , but the Krushas seem to be taking the initiative and going for the ball themselves.
That's an unusual tactic to be sure, Jim.
And look they have the ball. Only a few seconds before the whistle. Can the chaos warrior make the end-zone Bob?
I don't know Jim. But the Kneecappers don't seem to care. Their combined might has just taken down another beastman. And they are fouling him again!
The Ref doesn't seem to mind this time Bob! Ouch! that injury looks painful.
Mephisto has the ball and is making a dash for the end-zone. The Kneecappers ogre is hot on his heels but Oh! He falls over!
Always a fun sight to see an ogre fall over Bob. Mephisto is running for a touch-down.
Will he make it Jim?
And the Ref blows the whistle. Well, what an interesting match it has been so far eh Bob?
It certainly has Jim. The Krusha's almost scored at the end of the first half but were beaten short by the call of the whistle. Currently the score is Nil-Nil. We'll be right back after this quick word from our sponsors…

I see the Krushas have adopted the age old gang-together-in-the-middle-and-hope-to-hit-everyone tactic that is such a favourite with the fans.

Yeah. Ooooh. Look at that. That's gotta be painful. One of the kneecappers has been smacked out of the way by mephisto and seems to be bleeding onto the carefully mown grass…
The groundsman's not going to be happy about that at all Bob.
No. The Kneecappers coach seems to be fairly content though. He obviously has more brave…

The beastman Diablo is attempting to knock over the Kneecappers star ogre. Oh and he succeeds. Would you look at that Bob.
Certainly a great tackle by Diablo there. The ogre is being carted away by Kneecapper medics. Without their star player the Kneecappers are in trouble, wouldn't you say Jim?
Yes. The Kneecappers are really in trouble now.
Look! One of the kneecappers seems intent an avenging his team-mate. He piled straight into the downed mephisto there. The Ref seems to have turned a blind eye to it despite the fact that the medics are rushing on to the pitch. Perhaps influenced by the large Kneecapper support today Jim?
Maybe Bob. And look one of the Kneecappers has slipped around the Krushas defence.and is making a run for the end zone.
Amazing tenacity there Jim. In the last seconds of the half, will he make it?
And it's a touchdown!!!
The Ref blows the whistle and it's all over. An exciting game there Jim.
An excellent game by all counts. The Kneecappers have won their first major victory of the season, and against all the odds I may say Bob.
Yes, but can they keep it up all Season?
We'll see Bob. We'll see. The Krushas performed embarrasingly badly Jim. They are going to have to pull off something impressive if they ever want to live this down.
