This was a commission project for the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton. Their original design was extremely dated and was a difficult user experience. My brief was to update the navigation into an easy to read and use system, as well as incorporating new content from the latest departmental prospectus. Do this, and keep within the existing website design framework established and edited by many people over the years.

The final design the client settled on was a basic left hand navigation pane using subdued colours which were easier on the eye than the previous garish scheme, yet kept within the colour range of the existing scheme. I also made it a lot easier to add in new pages by setting up the navigation pane as a PHP include so that only one file must be edited for the change to be seen on multiple pages.

The client was obviously impressed with the results, as I was called back to repeat a similar procedure on the postgraduate admissions pages - that's what I call a successful project!
